Tour Plan

1

Day 1: Antananarivo

  • Arrival to Ivato International Airport and Airport meet up and Pickup by your tour leader Pia. Then transfer to Antananarivo. (If you are taking different flight times we can arrange meet up).
Antananarivo is the capital and largest city in Madagascar. It is a vibrant city known for its hills, historic architecture, and bustling markets.

Day 2: Antananarivo - Antsirabe - Miandrivazo

  • Departure at 3 am in the morning from Antananarivo for a full day road trip towards Miandrivazo.
  • Breakfast stop in Antsirabe and artisanal visits in local workshops.
In Antsirabe, the artisan visits offer a glimpse into the region’s rich craftsmanship, where local workshops showcase traditional skills such as zebu horn carving, miniature rickshaw making, embroidery, silk weaving , or painting on organic textile.
  • Upon arrival to Miandrivazo check in and dinner at ecolodge.

Day 3: Passy – Sallanches – Saint Gervais/Le Fayet – Chamonix

  • Breakfast at the lodge
  • Start of the Tsiribihina river trip.
An authentic and soothing 3 day journey descending the river. The expedition of 150 km length is done aboard a traditional 3 persons canoe ridden by a paddler. We will flow smoothly on the ocher waters of the Tsibirinha, to meet the people and villagers of the river, and witness the preserved fauna and flora. The Tsiribihina crosses gorges cut in limestone then regains its ease up to a kilometer in width, pushing the rice fields into the distant horizon.
  • On this 1st day of expedition, you will sit back in the canoe, relax and enjoy the full day ride crossing the massif of Bemaraha and admiring the pristine landscape and wildlife (lemurs, birds, herons, wild ducks, parrots, raptors, kingfishers, chameleons, insects and butterflies).
  • Pic Nic lunch and stop by the Nosinapela waterfall for a dip in its natural swimming pool.
  • In the evening we will settle a camp in the village of Begidro on the river sand bank and have a cooked dinner around the campfire.

Day 4: Tsiribihina river

  • On our second day, we will continue cruising slowly on the river to discover remote villages. We will have a picnic lunch on the way.
  • In the evening we will settle a camp on the river sand bank and have a cooked dinner around the campfire.

DAY 5: Tsiribihina river - Kirindy

  • On our third day, we will proceed for the last part of the canoe trip passing through the rice fields on the riverbanks. The canoe will finally stop at the village of Taroatna
  • From Tsaroatna we will drive to Kirindy for rest and lunch. Then we will visit the sacred Baobab.
  • Afternoon workshop with school kids from whom we gave the educational donation and gift sharing .
This heartwarming and interactive session is dedicated to engaging with local school children through an art/educational workshop and a meaningful gift-sharing experience. After our morning exploration, we will spend the afternoon connecting with the young students who have received our educational donations.
  • Diner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 6: Kirindy - Morondava

  • Pre-dawn departure to experience the breathtaking sunrise at the legendary Allée des Baobabs, to enjoy its serene beauty before the crowds. Then we will plant a a baobab tree to contribute to conservation efforts, followed by a delightful breakfast at a local Baobab restaurant.
  • Drive to Morondava for a traditional pirogue cruise along the bay, passing through a mangrove  and virgin coastlines. We will stop at a white sandy beach for relaxation and swimming/snorkelling and have a delicious seafood lunch before returning back to Morondava for overnight.
  • Check in, rest and Dinner at local ecolodge with Seaview.

Day 7: Morondava - Antananarivo – Andasibe

  • Breakfast at ecolodge.
  • We will catch a national Flight from Morondava to Antananarivo at 9h45 am - arrival to Antananarivo at 10h50 am.
  • Meet the rest of the group joining the second part of the trip and proceed driving to Andasibe for an evening arrival. Lunch stop on the way.
  • Guided nocturnal walk to  see the fauna that comes out at night.
  • Dinner and overnight at  ecolodge

Day 8: Andasibe

  • Breakfast at lodge.
  • Easy Hike about 4 km on the Intri Circuit in Analamazoatra National Park . This is where you will explore different lemur territories and specially see the Indri Indri, and you’ll see a greater diversity of plants and birds. Easy Hiking difficulty about 3/4 hours.
The Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is formed by two distinct protected areas – the Analamazoatra special reserve and the Mantadia national park known to shelter the biggest lemur of the world: the indri.
  • We will have locally prepared lunch made by a community association, with traditional dishes. After lunch, visit a local raffia workshop, where artisans demonstrate their traditional weaving techniques used to craft hats, bags, and decorative items.
  • Dinner at rest at ecolodge

Day 9: Andasibe

  • Breakfast at lodge.
  • Medium level unique hike, 5 km along the Rianala trail in the Mantadia National Park’s rain forest known for its rare orchids, waterfalls, birds and most importantly lemurs. Around 4 hours medium level trail.
  • Home-cooked lunch prepared by the local women’s association. After lunch, we will have an afternoon walk around the town of Andasibe and visit a local school, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the children through a meaningful workshop and engaging in educational and cultural exchange, and participate in a donation handover, providing essential school supplies. We will conclude the visit with a heartfelt goodbye ceremony, a moment of gratitude and connection before departing.
  • Return to ecolodge to rest and and dinner

Day 10: Andasibe - Moramanga – Toamasina

  • Pick up picnic breakfast & lunch.
  • Drive towards Moramanga at  5 am in the morning.
  • Train ride from Moramanga to Toamasina (Tamatave).
One of Madagascar’s most iconic rail journeys, offering a window into the country's lush landscapes, rural life, and colonial-era railway history. Although train travel in Madagascar is not known for speed or comfort, this particular train route  part of the TCE line (Tananarive–Côte Est)  is a true adventure typically taking about 12 hours. It’s less about getting somewhere quickly and more about soaking in the atmosphere and seeing parts of Madagascar you can’t  easily reach by road.
  • Arrival to Toamasina train station  and transfer to lodge. Rest and dinner at the lodge.

DAY 11: Toamasina - Soaniera Ivongo - Ile sainte Marie - Ile aux Nattes

  • Pick up picnic breakfast
  • 3 am drive towards Soaniera Ivongo to take 10 am Ferry boat towards ile sainte Marie.
  • Arrival to the island at 12 pm, and transfer to lodge on ile aux nattes to put luggage and special seafood lunch at local restaurant with amazing vibe.
  • Free afternoon for resting or kayaking in the clear lagoon.
  • Evening dinner and traditional musical/dancing night new year eve at our lodge.

DAY 12: Ile aux Nattes

  • Breakfast at  Ecolodge
  • Pirogue  boat excursion, exploring the island’s coastline and heading to Îles aux Sables for a snorkelling experience in crystal-clear waters. Then we will relax on a private white sandy beach and savor a freshly prepared seafood picnic lunch.
(Possibility for optional scuba diving)
  • Afternoon return to lodge to rest and then, walk around ile aux nattes to visit  vanilla plantation, local villages and sunset from scenic spot with optional drinks.
  • Return in the evening to our lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 13: Ile aux Nattes – Ile Sainte Marie

  • Breakfast at Ecolodge
  • Transfer to Ile Sainte Marie a full day ATV ride around the island route, visiting local villages, mangrove, natural pools and scenic views with delicious lunch at local seafood restaurant.
(NB: Our Atv trip follows local traffic rules and avoids sensitive cultural or residential areas)
  • Return in the evening to our lodge for dinner and resting.

DAY 14: Ile aux Nattes – Ile Sainte Marie

  • Transfer to airport for 4 am flight back to Antananarivo.
  • Visit the artisans market upon arrival to Antananarivo and then check in at your hotel for breakfast or resting.
  • Afternoon roaming around the markets of the center of Antananarivo for optional shopping.
  • Diner at the Hotel.

DAY 15: Ile aux Nattes – Ile Sainte Marie

  • Breakfast at  Hotel
  • Attend the ceremonial mass of Père Pedro in the nearby village of  Akamasoa and guided village tour.
Père Pedro is a humanitarian priest who has dedicated his life to fighting poverty in Madagascar. He founded Akamasoa, a social project that provides housing, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities to thousands of underprivileged families. Every Sunday, Père Pedro leads a powerful and uplifting mass, attended by thousands, where music, prayer, and unity bring together the community.
  • Transfer to airport for departures.

Environmental:

Within this trip fees each participant is donating an amount to compensate on  his/her flight’s CO2 emissions. Within this trip fee each participant plant trees in Madagascar through a local reforestation NGO

Local Community:

We particularly teamed up with Malagasy rural tourism NGOs to offer some unique local experiences. In addition 70% out of the trip cost is directly generating income to the local communities working in the tourism sector, from accommodations to services, activities and small businesses.

Community Service:

Included in the trip fee, each participant is donating 50$ that will be distributed among fragile schools that we will visit and volunteer parts of our days during the trip.

Registration policy:

  • Registration will not be taken into consideration or confirmed unless you pay at least 25% DEPOSIT out of the total amount.
  • Later 50% has to be paid  3 month prior to trip starting date.
  • The remaining 25% should be settled 1 month prior to trip date.
  • Passport of the traveler should be valid for at least 6 months after the departure date.

Cancellation policy:

  • IF  you cancel your reservation, 60 days and above your scheduled trip date, The full amount you paid will be refunded, minus the bank charges.
  • IF cancellation occurs between 59 to 15 Days before your scheduled trip dates,  50% out of the total amount will be refunded. (Subject to case by case)
  • IF cancellation occurs Starting and less than 14 Days before your scheduled trip dates  the full amount will be unrefunded. (Subject to case by case)
   

What to bring?

  • One Big backpack 50 L and one waist bag.
  • Bring lightweight, breathable clothing for daytime activities and warmer layers such as sweaters or jackets for cooler evenings.
  • Comfortable walking shoes & hiking boots are essential, especially for the activities planned, exploring historical sites and natural attractions with uneven terrain.
  • Rain jacket or poncho
  • A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are important for protection against the sun.
  • Flipflops for all time wearing
