Why summer 2025 matters in Lebanon

1. A visionary comeback backed by reform

Lebanon’s rebound is no longer just a hope, it’s taking shape through real reform. A sweeping 39-clause banking law, a restructured central bank, and a depositor compensation plan are restoring confidence in the country’s economy. With gulf countries lifting long standing travel bans, Lebanon is hoping to welcome back Arabs and their families from the GCC aiming for a significant raise in number of visitors by the end of 2025.

2.  Ambitious projects & Infrastructure boost

Infrastructure is catching up with ambition. A $70 million Terminal 2 project is being planned at Beirut Airport, set to handle 20 million travelers by 2030. Meanwhile, plans to reopen Klayaat Airport in the north are advancing too, promising a second gateway that could ease pressure on Beirut and boost regional tourism. Tourism is also going smart with e-visas, AR museum guides, and AI-powered itineraries while expanded tourist police and safer transport networks promise smoother journeys across the country.

3. A land for every kind of traveler

Summer 2025 in Lebanon offers more than famous landmarks, it’s about tailored experiences. For solo travelers, safe mountain escapes like Tannourine and Hasroun offer hiking, cafés, and authentic guesthouses. Families can enjoy kids-friendly spots like the Jezzine waterfalls, the Ehden Nature Reserve, or eco-parks in the Chouf. Couples will find romance in Batroun and Rachaya, known for their views, wine, and weekend charm. Wellness seekers can reset with yoga in Qartaba or nature escapes in Aaqoura. Major sites like Jeita Grotto, Baalbek, and Beiteddine remain must-visits, but new energy is also rising: “New Beirut” unveils five fresh venues, while the Beirut Holidays festival returns with support from the Ministry of Tourism. Whether you’re looking for nature, culture, or celebration, Lebanon offers a place for you.

4. Empowering Lebanese & Diaspora engagement

Lebanon’s diaspora is coming home this time, not just for nostalgia, but to reconnect and contribute. May alone saw nearly 300,000 arrivals many of them returning expats. The country is actively inviting them back through targeted campaigns, and cultural initiatives aimed at rekindling ties. Their presence fuels rural and cultural tourism, from farm-to-table stays to village festivals, breathing life into local economies and traditions.

Visions are beginning to take shape, and long-awaited reforms are emerging.. But in a region rattled by conflict, and with flight cancellations already casting doubt over summer plans, we’re reminded how fragile progress can be. The question is no longer just about revival, but survival. Can tourism truly flourish when the skies around us are uncertain? And in the face of rising hope and regional fear, where do we go from here together?
